Online Safety
Keep Conversations on SpinVibe Initially
Start by chatting within the SpinVibe app. Our messaging system allows you to get to know someone while maintaining privacy. Users with bad intentions often try to move conversations to other platforms quickly.
Protect Your Personal Information
Never share the following information until you trust someone:
- •Home or work address, or specific location details
- •Your daily routine (gym schedule, commute times, etc.)
- •Social Security number or financial information
- •Information about your children or family members
Beware of Scams
Common warning signs of scams include:
- ⚠️Requests for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency
- ⚠️Claims of emergencies or being "stuck" somewhere
- ⚠️Investment opportunities or "get rich quick" schemes
- ⚠️Professions of love or strong feelings very quickly
🚫 Never send money to someone you meet on SpinVibe, even if they claim it's an emergency.
Verify Identity
If someone is reluctant to meet in person or have a video call, they might not be who they claim to be. Consider a phone or video call before meeting to confirm their identity. You can also try reverse image searching their profile photos.
Trust Your Instincts
If something feels off or someone is disrespecting your boundaries, don't ignore that feeling. It's okay to stop communicating, block, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
Meeting In Person
Always Meet in Public
For first meetings and until you feel completely comfortable:
- ✓Choose well-populated, public places like cafés, restaurants, or parks
- ✓Avoid private residences (yours or theirs)
- ✓Meet during daytime hours when possible
Tell Someone Your Plans
Always inform a friend or family member about your date plans, including when and where you're going. Share your live location with a trusted contact during the date if possible. Set a check-in time with a friend.
Control Your Transportation
Arrange your own transportation to and from the date. Don't accept rides from your date initially, and don't share your home address until you're comfortable.
Stay Sober and Alert
To maintain your safety:
- •Know your limits with alcohol or other substances
- •Never leave your drink unattended
- •Watch your drink being prepared when possible
- •Keep your phone charged and accessible
Have an Exit Strategy
If you feel uncomfortable at any point, you have every right to leave immediately. Don't worry about being polite if you feel unsafe. Trust your instincts and prioritize your safety.
Account Security
Use a Strong Password
Create a unique, strong password for your SpinVibe account. Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Don't reuse passwords from other accounts.
Beware of Phishing
SpinVibe will never ask for your username and password via email, text, or any communication outside the app. If you receive such requests, report them immediately and do not respond.
Protect Your Verification Codes
Never share SMS verification codes or two-factor authentication codes with anyone, including people claiming to be from SpinVibe support.
Reporting & Blocking
How to Report Inappropriate Behavior
If you encounter inappropriate behavior, harassment, scams, or any violations of our Community Guidelines:
- Navigate to the user's profile
- Tap the menu icon (three dots)
- Select "Report" and choose the reason
- Provide any additional details that may help our team
Our team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action, which may include warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.
Block and Unmatch
You can block any user at any time. Blocking prevents them from seeing your profile, contacting you, or viewing your activity. You can also unmatch with users you no longer wish to communicate with.
